So, on Friday here in Denver....on the morning show with BJ, Howie and Jennifer...there was some discussion about an encounter Howie had with a motorcyclist that was driving erratically. Howie was expressing his frustration with motorcycle drivers in general and suggested to the listeners that people OPEN THEIR DOORS TO ONCOMING BIKERS.

Howie asked listeners to call in and tell their "bad biker" driving stories and rant about what they would like to do to these bikers. This carried most of the morning show. Surprisingly, only a couple pro-bikers were able to get through the producers...because, of course, the anti-bikers would get better ratings. People called in saying how they would like to "bump" bikers or open their doors on them...and much more.

I have to wonder....WHAT KIND OF PERSON/SHOW WOULD ADVOCATE DOING HARM TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING? It's low. It's disgusting. Have some class, folks! Sure, most adults would know better...but you know there was some young driver out there that thinks this a funny idea and will actually try it.

The station is claiming the incident "never happened". When 105.5 was asked to produce the tape of the show to the local news, they refused.

Colorado Bike Sport Club is asking the people of Denver to boycott the station as well as the advertisers that use Alice 105.9. Let the advertisers KNOW why you doing this by calling or sending a letter. You can find a form letter at the Colorado Bike Sport Club site. Here is just short list of advertisers:

I love radio and I support free speech. If you are a personality on the radio, you have a lot of power to pass information along to your listeners. You have a responsibility to the community. Even if it's done under the guise of comedy, asking people to do anything illegal, harmful or dangerous is never appropriate.

Sorry Alice 105.9...I never have liked you morning show anyway..but I do like Slacker & Steve in the afternoon....because of this incident, I'm turning the dial.
