Meet our Newest Addition: SHAQ

He is 16 pounds of gooey cat goodness. He is 5 years old and has only 1/2 of his tail, which he wags like a dog. The shelter records said that he lost part of his tail when he was hit by a car.

He came from a no kill shelter that rescued him from another shelter. They think he has spent most of his life in some sort of animal shelter.

We call him SHAQ because he is largest, beefiest cat we have ever seen. His head is the size of a large grapefruit. His legs are a little short, so he walks like a bulldog.

You can imagine....we have already started calling him "Love SHAQ" or "Boom SHAQ-a-laka-laka" and "SHAQ Attack". He is such a lovey boy...and a surprisingly good ball player. Go figure.

So far, there has been little conflict with the other cats in the house (black cats also). The dog thinks she IS a cat, so she accepted Shaq with no problem.

Things we have learned about SHAQ so far: #1- He loves catnip. #2- He does eat plants. #3- If you are going to lift SHAQ, you will need 2 hands. You should also lift from your knees, NOT your back.
